Low-income/Affordable Housing

Remarkable Breakthrough, Inc. offers low-income housing and has a priority to understand the needs of each Veteran so we can provide proper help. Research suggests that there is a shortage of facilities that provide low-income housing and cater to the needs of homeless Veterans.  Homelessness has wreaked havoc throughout the Veteran community and increased over the years.

  • United States: According to the Annual Homeless Assessment Report to Congress in January 2020 homelessness in the United States was 580,466 people on a single night with Homeless Veterans accounting for a large proportion of the total number.

The program includes resume writing, job searching, interviewing skills, etc.

  • Financial Literacy: Designed to help Veterans understand how to manage their money. By providing Veterans with the tools, they need to manage their money effectively, this program will help them avoid financial struggles and achieve long-term success.
Rehabilitation

Remarkable Breakthrough, Inc. will serve all Veterans who are homeless or near homeless, but research indicates that the main causes of homelessness amongst Veterans are due to substance abuse and mental health. In order to provide the best support within the Veteran community there are three main focuses that are the priority.

  • Homeless Veterans with Disabilities: Approximately 51% of homeless Veterans have disabilities that range from traumatic brain injuries, seizure disorders, and cognitive disorders. Having these disabilities can create unique challenges that make it difficult to access resources and services.
  • Homeless Veterans with mental illness: Approximately 50% of homeless Veterans suffer from a mental illness the most common being Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSD). Veterans with mental illnesses are a vulnerable population that requires specific support and resources to address their needs.
  • Homeless Veterans with substance abuse: Approximately 70% of homeless Veterans become addicted to drugs and/or alcohol. Substance abuse can lead to financial problems, legal issues, and social isolation, as well as exacerbate other health problems.
